Douglas Skyrocket
An experimental American rocket-powered plane that became the first aircraft to travel at more than twice the speed of sound. On November 30, 1953, pilot A. Scott Crossfield nudged the Skyrocket, which had been air-launched from a Boeing B-29, into a shallow dive at 18,900 meters and reached 2,136 km/h (Mach 2.01). The D-558 series, which also included the Skystreak, was developed by Douglas Aircraft under the direction of Edward H. Heinmann of the United States Navy. NACA (National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics) used the Skyrocket to explore the flight characteristics of swept-wing aircraft.

Douglas Skystreak
Conceived in 1945, the D558-1 Skystreak was designed by the Douglas Aircraft Company for the U.S. Navy Bureau of Aeronautics, in conjunction with the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA). The Skystreaks were turbojet powered aircraft that took off from the ground under their own power and had straight wings and tails. All the skystreaks were initially painted scarlet, which lead to the nickname "crimson test tube." NACA later had the color of the Skystreaks changed to white to improve optical tracking and photography. The Skystreaks were ideal first-generation, simple, transonic research airplanes.

MF Seagull Model Airplane
The Curtiss Seagull appeared shortly after the end of First World War. Although it was probably the best small flying boat of the period, not many were sold. The Seagull had to compete with the low-priced, war-surplus Curtiss MF flying boats from which it had been developed. Though both somewhat small for the job, both the Seagull and the Curtis MF were flown in some Canadian bush operations.

Neptune P2V-5 Wood Model Airplane
The first P2V-5 flew on 29 December 1950, and the type performed ocean patrols during the later parts of the Korean War. The P2V-5 retained the same powerplants as the P2V-4, but the six fixed 20 millimeter guns in the nose were replaced by an Emerson nose turret mounting twin 20 millimeter guns. Additional anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and electronics countermeasures (ECM) gear were incorporated, and another crew member was added to operate the new ASW-ECM gear, bringing the total to nine.
